The Crossed Keys are a symbol of Reconciliation. The keys crossed form the “X,” the first letter in the Greek spelling of “Christ,” reminding us that through Jesus we are reconciled. Jesus reconciles us to God and to one another. One key represents our reconciliation to God and God to us. We have been estranged from God as we have put our trust in Self rather than in God. We have been separated from God by our sin. Jesus, through his death has removed our sin so that we can enter into a relationship with God. Also, Jesus’ death on the cross has satisfied God’s wrath for sin and so, Jesus has reconciled God to us. The second key represents our reconciliation to one another. Jesus has broken down the dividers between us. Through Jesus we are able to promote true peace in our relationships. We are able to forgive each other and trust one another. We are able to put the interests of others before our own.

Every Saturday at Reconciliation we meet to worship the God who has reconciled us to each other and to himself. Come join us at 6:00 p.m. and experience the ministry of reconciliation. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
